Reminder - Changes to Notice Period

REMINDER – CHANGES TO NOTICE PERIODS

FROM 1 AUGUST

From 1 August 2021 notice periods for cases where there are less than four months of unpaid rent, will reduce to two months’ notice.

The UK Government’s guidance states that if a landlord wishes to serve a new notice in order to take advantage of the new shorter notice periods required for certain serious cases, they must, where they are issuing a new notice of the same type, withdraw the first notice before they serve a new notice.

For more information on the minimum notice periods for each ground see the UK Government’s – Possession Guidance.
